Things I Enjoyed this Week
- My ongoing gratitude and photo project continues below. I didn’t take photos everyday, but I want to post the ones I managed to get.

Day 52: I am grateful for walks and talks with my Mom on nice days. We went to the Kinsol Trestle on the holiday Monday.

Day 53: I am grateful for motivation to keep on top of exercising. I got it with Airmiles points.

Day 54: I am grateful for creepy stuff in my neighborhood. There is an unknown person that is a prolific maker of witchy hanging statues.

Day 55: I am grateful for a roommate that loves to get delivery food.

Day 56: I am grateful for company that loves a good picnic.

Day 57: I am grateful for the rhythms of the seasons.
- I watched no new Oscar best picture winners and learned no new constellations. I watched Only Yesterday which was a charming anime movie. Despite being made in 1991, it had a refreshing focus on the realistic dramas of a late twenties woman reminiscing about childhood and the direction of her own life. Despite living in the city all her life, she yearns to be in the countryside where she vacations helping on a farm. I can’t wait to visit rural Japan again.
- I enjoy learning new words as I come across them in the wild. Here are some that I came across recently while reading or listening to podcasts.
- Cloche – a bell or dome shaped translucent cover to protect plants from frost
- Sangfroid – composure and self-possession while under stress or in danger
Meal Prep and New Recipes Tried
- My boyfriend had a vivid dream about apple bread that had lots of cinnamon and was swirled. I was inspired and made this Applesauce Bread from Skinnytaste. I did not add the walnuts, as I wanted it to be soft. My apple was enormous, so it was a little too moist. It was delicious though.
- I just roasted some veggies and made a big pot of mapo tofu using sauce packets for the week.
Updates
- Not much to report. I did three hikes in one day though, which made for a great Saturday.
