Bucket List Items Accomplished
Nothing new to report this week. Sorry for the super late post. Work has been very busy.

Things I Enjoyed this Week
- My ongoing gratitude and photo project continues below.

Day 36: I am grateful for trellises.

Day 37: I am grateful for fun, functional art.

Day 38: I am grateful for cute new headphones I bought after tragically breaking another pair.

Day 39: I am grateful for educational displays.

Day 40: I am grateful for lactose free milkshakes.

Day 41: I am grateful for perfectly placed benches.

Day 42: I am grateful for pastoral scenes.
- I watched no new Oscar best picture winners.
- I enjoy learning new words as I come across them in the wild. Here are some that I came across recently while reading or listening to podcasts.
- Hectoring – talking or behaving in a loud or bullying way
- Sotto Voce – under the breath or in a low or quiet voice for emphasis
- Chasuble – sleeveless cloak worn by priests, often ornate with a simple hole for the head
- No quote or constellations this week.
Meal Prep and New Recipes Tried
- I made a big pot of Bacon Bean Potato Soup from Budgetbytes to use up leftover bacon.
Updates
- I only crossed two things off of my bucket list in April. Across the world most people are trying to stay home and so am I. I have only been venturing out for walks, grocery shopping, and takeout from my favourite local spots. This, combined with struggles with motivation have made it difficult to make progress on my bucket list. It’s all good though. I’ll pick it up again when I can.
- Made a shrub
- Made sauerkraut
- In the month of April I read and listened to eight books. I listened to audiobooks for six of them and read two. Here’s what I finished reading this month.
- Self Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself
- The Princess Diarist
- Never Home Alone: From Microbes to Millipedes, Camel Crickets, and Honeybees, the Natural History of Where We Live
- Hello I Want to Die Please Fix Me: Depression in the First Person
- David and Goliath: Underdogs, Misfits, and the Art of Battling Giants
- Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
- The Body: A Guide for Occupants
- La Belle Sauvage (The Book of Dust #1)
- As part of my recommitment to exercise I went for a few walks this week that were about three hours long each.
- I am wary about pain in my right knee, so I put running on hold until it feels 100%. I’m therefore still in the middle of week two of the C25K (Couch to 5 km) running program.
- Reduction of added sugar is going well again. Making sure to stock up on healthy snacks like crudites and fruit.
